Mykhaylo “Misha” Simanovskyy

Brumley/ISP Student Fellow

Misha Simanovskyy is a dual Master’s student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Center for Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies and a graduate researcher at the UT Global Disinformation Lab (GDIL). He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Texas Christian University. Currently, Misha leads two projects (#BoycottBiz and Pravda) within GDIL, mentored by Ukrainian scholars-in-residence. Misha’s interest in disinformation stems from his passion for conflict resolution, which is closely tied to combating mis- and disinformation. Misha believes that the best policy solutions come as a result of combining deep regional knowledge, expertise in functional issues (such as disinformation or disarmament), and rigorous analysis of current world affairs and trends. Upon graduation from UT-Austin, Misha intends to work in the field of diplomacy and specialize in reducing conflicts and violence in the post-Soviet space. As a Brumley Fellow, Misha will be working with Intelligence Studies Project Director Steve Slick.
