The Intelligence Studies Project Director Steve Slick recently reviewed Joel Whitney’s publication Finks: How the CIA Tricked the World’s Best Writers in an article published by Lawfare.
Director Slick began reading Whitney’s book while planning for an upcoming course on covert action, hoping to uncover new and useful insights on the Cultural Cold War. However, Whitney’s exploration of the topic proved unhelpful in both understanding the CIA’s role in the Cold War and preparing course materials for intelligence professors.
