UT-Austin’s Clements-Strauss Intelligence Studies Project is now accepting applications from UT undergraduate students of all academic disciplines to participate in its 2026 Texas Intelligence Academy (TIA). The TIA is an intensive, 3-hour credit, academic program focused on intelligence and national security in Washington, D.C. on May 6 to 27, 2026.

The TIA offers a competitively-chosen group of UT undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about U.S. intelligence through lectures by distinguished scholars and practitioners, moderated discussions, simulation exercises, and visits to intelligence-related sites and facilities in the Washington, D.C. area. Students will receive UT course credit through the LBJ School of Public Affairs (PA 365W), the College of Liberal Arts – Government Department (GOV 355M), or the McComb’s School of Business’ – Business, Government, and Society Department (BGS 372T) upon successful completion of the course. The course is pending approval for the IRG Track II: International Security concentration, the Certificate in Security Studies, and the National Security and International Business Minor.

TIA students will be housed in the District of Columbia and study at the UT System’s Archer Center, one block from the White House. The program fee is $2,000 and includes all program expenses (airfare, lodging, site visits, and formal meals) and a travel stipend to cover other meal and local transportation expenses. Scholarships of up to $2,000 to cover program fees are available to students based on financial need.
