On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Strauss-Clements Intelligence Studies Project<\/a>, Strauss Center for International Security and Law<\/a>, Clements Center for National Security<\/a>, and the UT-Austin Chapter of the American Nuclear Society<\/a> hosted Dr. Michael Gregson of\u00a0Sandia National Laboratories’ Strategic Weapons & Threat Analysis Department for a discussion on the national security implications of nuclear arms control agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIOGRAPHY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Michael Gregson <\/strong>is a distinguished technical staff member at Sandia National Laboratories in the Strategic Weapons and Threat Analysis Department. During his time at Sandia, he worked in Sandia\u2019s nuclear facilities supporting experimentation and facility operations. He was also a senior analyst within the Nuclear Policy office of the U.S. Department of Defense where he formulated and promulgated national U.S. nuclear policy. Dr. Gregson currently works on a variety of topics related to nuclear weapons including: deterrence, arms control, weapon effects, U.S. force structure and force modernization, external threats, and other topics of national strategic interest.  Dr. Gregson has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin), a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the UT-Austin, and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3579,"template":"","acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/intelligencestudies.utexas.edu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events\/3578"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/intelligencestudies.utexas.edu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/intelligencestudies.utexas.edu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/events"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/intelligencestudies.utexas.edu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3579"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/intelligencestudies.utexas.edu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3578"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
