National Security Career Event - Student Resources

National Security Career Event 

Date/Time:  September 10, 2019 - 10:00AM to 3:00PM

Location:  Etter-Harbin Alumni Center

Representatives of U.S. military, intelligence, and national security agencies will be available to students throughout the day to discuss internship, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities. See below for additional information on these agencies (in alphabetical order) and their offerings at the National Security Career Event. 

Remember to bring your resume, dress professionally and be prepared for potential interviews. If selected, candidates may be interviewed on-site or asked to schedule an interview on the following day.  Some agencies are seeking to fill positions with recent UT graduates or students planning to graduate in December 2019/May 2020.

Prior to the career event, CIA recommends students to complete the CIA's Job Fit Tool to determine how their skillsets may potentially match open critical hiring requirements.

The CIA recruiter is offering limited one-on-one advisory sessions to students on the day of the career event from 3:30PM to 6:00PM. Students will be asked to sign up for time slots at the career event. The sessions will take place at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center. UT students may also request to meet with UT's CIA Resident Intelligence Officer to discuss career opportunities during office hours. DIA

DEFENSE INTELLIGENCE AGENCY (DIA)

Offerings:  DIA will be accepting applications in mid-September through its website for a hiring event to be held in the Washington D.C. area in early 2020.  Details will be posted on the DIA website under the “Careers and Internships” tab, in “Search Vacancies” once available. 

A DIA representative and former UT alumnus is offering limited one-on-one advisory sessions to students on the day following the career event (9/11/19) from 9:30AM to 12:00PM. Students will be asked to sign up for time slots at the career event. The sessions will take place at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
